Breast Implants Gone Wrong Testimonial, How Dr. Wigoda Made it Right

The chances your breast implant surgery could go wrong is greater than you think.  Studies show one in five who have plastic surgery are unhappy with the results and Dr. Paul Wigoda finds it all too often that patients come to him to fix poorly done breast implant surgeries by other doctors.

Fort Lauderdale-based Dr. Wigoda always stresses the importance of researching your plastic surgeon, regardless of how routine the procedure may be. Having an experienced plastic surgeon will minimize your chance of having poor results and avoid the need for a second surgery.

The second surgery can still be a charm

The first time a procedure is done is your best chance at having a great result but this breast augmentation testimonial on a corrective implant surgery demonstrates that a botched procedure can be redeemed.

In 2005, this woman had a breast augmentation done that she claims was “terrible” and her dissatisfaction left her seeking corrective surgery. The procedures included a bilateral breast lift, the removal of scar tissue created from the first breast surgery, and her breast implants were replaced; all of which could have been avoided if her first breast augmentation had gone well.

It is often difficult to correct a botched breast implant surgery  because on top of completing the regular procedure, the plastic surgeon needs to fix  additional issues like present incisions and scars, as well as breast issue or nerves that have been moved, stretched, or injured in ways that are not reversible.

“I was surprised, recovery wasn’t bad at all especially compared to my first surgery which I had less work done with more pain,” she said.

Dr. Wigoda’s patient describes her initial surgery as painful for at least two weeks, which kept her out of work as she could not drive. Although her corrective breast surgery procedure was more involved, having an experienced plastic surgeon reduced her pain significantly and she was able to drive herself to her follow-up appointment the very next day and was back to work as a nurse within the first week.

She concludes her interview with, “I’m extremely happy, Dr. Wigoda made a miracle happen coming from where I was before to what it is now. I’m surprised that my breasts look this good especially this quick after surgery. I must say I’m happy.”

After her breast surgery, the patient highly recommends Dr. Wigoda’s Painless Breast Implants procedure. If you are looking to enhance or fix a previous breast augmentation or would like to have an excellent experience the first time around, contact Dr. Wigoda for a free consultation today.

Dr. Paul Wigoda Reports Silicone Breast Implants Grow 72% in 2012

Faces are lifting, silicone breast implants are IN, skin is smoothing, Botox is booming and tummy tucking is far from flat, growing 70% in the last 12 years. The biggest bump Dr. Paul Wigoda noticed was the fact that 72% of breast implant surgeries in the United States used silicone implants; 28% used saline or sterile salt water implants.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has just released their 2012 annual statistics reporting the number and variety of plastic surgery procedures that were performed last year. The report, a virtual “state of the union” for plastic surgery profession, provides us with several interesting insights into trends in plastic surgery for the year.

“The fact that total U.S. cosmetic procedures were up last year is not surprising given that the economy is beginning to bounce back and these procedures are high on many people’s list of things to do with the extra income they are seeing.” says Dr. Paul Wigoda. Check the infographic below for increases in cosmetic procedures in relation to other important economic indicators, also on the rise.

Overall, cosmetic procedures in total were up a whopping 5%! The most popular procedures by volume were breast augmentation with 286,274 performed in 2012, followed by nose reshaping (242,684), eyelid surgery (204,015), liposuction (202,128), facelift (126,320) and tummy tuck (106,628).

Faces Lifting!

The biggest bump last year came in the form of facial rejuvenation procedures.

Here are some highlights:

  • Facelifts up by 6% from 2011

  • Eyelid Surgery up 4%

  • Microdermabrasion up 8% with 973,556 performed

  • Soft Tissue Fillers up by 5% with 1,988,767 performed

  • Botox and Dysport up 8% with 6,134,631 performed

Why so much focus on the face? The ASPS suggests “one has to assume that economic recovery and consumer confidence plays an important role… Another factor is people entering or re-entering the workforce at an older age, needing to compete with younger applicants. Having our appearance look as good as our experience and resumes… is a strong motivation.”

Other Notable Performers Include:

  • Breast Augmentation, up 35% from 2000

  • Calf Augmentation up 8% from 2011

  • Pectoral Implants up 6%

  • Upper Arm Lift up 3%

  • Tummy Tuck up 70% from 2000

Male Surgeries on the Rise

A clear indicator of the increase in male surgeries is in the treatment of male breast development or gynecomastia with an increase of 5% over last year. Says Dr. Paul Wigoda, “We have seen a marked increase in male procedures over the past several years, especially last year. Not just for gynecomastia but for facelift, eyelid lifts, pectoral augmentation, dermabrasion and nose reshaping. Plastic surgery is definitely no longer just for women.”

All in all, the ASPS reports prove that the state of the plastic surgery profession is very promising with further increases projected for next year. So, if you’ve been waiting for an economic turnaround to plan a cosmetic procedure, the time to schedule it is officially now. Come in for a free consultation with Dr. Wigoda and celebrate our improved economy!

First 7 Days After Painless Breast Implant Plastic Surgery with Dr. Wigoda

So I had my painless breast implant surgery last Friday, took the weekend to rest and recover, by Monday I was back at work full force and more.

Dr Wigoda Painless Breast Implant Patient Doing Sit Ups

Can you believe it's only been 7 days?

I went for my follow-up visit with Dr. Wigoda Monday morning for a clear check up. Then a three-hour drive back to my new hometown of Celebration, Florida, so no painkillers or muscle relaxers for Lisa in the driver’s seat.  I did fine and really did not need them!

I also found out I have no stitches to remove, they dissolve! Wow, pretty cool and an added bonus, thanks Dr. Wigoda!

The first week my “new additions” seem to be settling into my body, but it s still a little weird looking in the mirror. Getting dressed each day is a challenge only because nothing fits the same and I’m not fashionably prepared with all the style necessities.

Some tips

  1. Sports Bra – pre-surgery! – Go to a Sears or Target and buy a whole bunch of sports bras in all colors and styles. Sears had the best selection (believe it or not) and let me just clarify; I have not shopped at Sears for anything but electronics since I was in 7th grade. But I must admit, they had cool stuff and the price and selection were a definite plus.
  2. T-shirts (James Perse, Spendid, Vixon) that are comfy and form fitting – this has been my most worn item; a cool crew neck form fitting T with a good sports bra. So while I am swollen, I still feel good and underexposed but flattering to my new shape
  3. Juicy Couture – type track jackets – these work well and help support you through the first couple weeks of transition.
  4. Go get a facial the first week– it made me feel even better, like a new you is starting and you are cleansing for a new beginning!
  5. Stay as active as you were – I started back on the treadmill one week after surgery, slowly but at least getting that mental and physical stimulation

I wouldn’t say to exactly follow my lead; I think I over did it. We left for a family vacation on Thursday (6 days after surgery) and carrying luggage and weaving through an airport is probably pushing it.

I went to the gym and did the treadmill, walked slowly and did some abs! Not bad for one week later!

I will be spending the next few days on the beach in Hatterass North Carolina – a little premature 7 days after Dr. Wigoda’s painless breast implant surgery, but here I am writing this post.

Apple Genius Bar, Seasons 52 – The Day After Painless Breast Implants from @Dr Wigoda

2 Days After My Painless Breast Implants at Apple Genius Bar

Day After My Painless Breast Implants at Apple Genius Bar

Waking up the day after breast implant surgery I did not expect to be pain free, but I was… (and just a little swollen). Slept in until 11:00 am, what a treat! Starbucks was the first request, I must be getting better. I just lounged in bed working and playing on my Mac. Making reservations, changing addresses, deleting old pictures and enjoying a day with nothing on my agenda except: relax… Dr. Wigoda’s orders after painless breast implant surgery!

I did not need to take any pain pills all day until around 5:00pm, started feeling a little pulling and tightening, very minor.

Don came home from the gym and felt like venturing out to the Apple store for a quick visit to the genius bar. I called Dr. Wigoda and he said as long as I was up to it and not driving, no problem.

So I took a light shower and decided not to blow-dry my hair, I would get my hair blown out at the mall at Regis, a cheap treat. Made me feel human again.

Visited with Apple store genius bar and then off to a quick bite at Seasons 52. Back home lounging again and watching Saturday Night Live happy to not have an agenda for tomorrow again!

Painless! Breast Augmentation Surgery Day @DrWigoda Fort Lauderdale

5:30 am

Waking up was a little surreal. I’m scared and anxious, but I think I figured out why. As a Type A (aka Control Freak), I will be out of control when I go under the anesthesia. Driving down to Dr. Wigoda’s Fort Lauderdale office in the rain.

Dr Wigoda Painless Breast Implants Surgery TODAY!

8:00 am

Check in to Dr. Wigoda’s on @foursquare, of course! A pregnancy test confirms I am NOT pregnant, thank you very much. In the prep room the Wigoda plastic surgery A team gets me dressed for surgery in style, IV in, and whatever they are telling me is not registering because I can’t think straight. With Navah and Don as my support team, how could I go wrong? Navah captured the YouTube moment while Don filled my meds.

8:30 am

Dr. Wigoda comes in to tell me I need to make a decision on size. I’m nervous to be too big, but decide on 370 cc (the bigger of my two choices).  According to everyone at The Aesthetics Institute, 90% of breast implant patients wish they went bigger, the other 10% are ok with size, nobody wishes for smaller. So why be the first? I go with bigger.

9:00 am

Surgery table in sight, trying to get those last text messages in on iPhone, kisses to my boyfriend and Navah. Will I wake up to see them again? (random thought running through my head) So if I die, at my funeral the whisper would be: How did she die? Answer: On the operating room table getting breast implant surgery. This is so anti-me, I decide God would not let that happen.

The Wigoda “A” team ask me what kind of cocktails I like, I say cosmo, they start the IV and I’m out. Anesthesiologist Dr. Paul Rodriquez makes the perfect cocktail!

My cocktail of choice!

My cocktail of choice!

11:15 am

I hear someone softly saying “Lisa.”  I open my eyes and feel such a sense of relief that I am alive, I look down at my chest, I think ‘ok, nothing crazy’, looks good. I feel emotional and want to hold everyone’s hand. Nurses Erica, Rocky, Lucy could not have been more comforting, like my new BFFs! By 11:45 I was back in my Juicy tracksuit and in the car on my way home (Don in the driver seat).

1:00 pm

I am in no pain, just feeling groggy from the anesthesia. I eat a Jello, some chicken broth and take my prescribed pills of pain killers, steroids, muscle relaxers and antibiotics. I feel like I can talk on the phone and text, but Don says I shouldn’t because I won’t remember anything. I am super thirsty and drink tons of water. Dozing in and out of Oprah, Rachel Ray and Dr. Oz seems like a nice break from social media networks.

4:00 pm

I ate some chicken and salad and have been walking around a little. I can even walk up and down the stairs and get out of bed myself! Dr. Wigoda just called to check in with me. He said keep lifting my arms every hour, I’ll be following doctor’s orders!

8:00 pm

Nurse Don’s (my boyfriend) shift ends, he feels so good about me feeling good; he is off to the gym and I am off to Twitter!

One Day Before Painless Breast Implants with Dr. Wigoda, I’m Officially Psychotic

So, the countdown begins…just 24 hours before my painless breast implant surgery with Dr. Paul Wigoda in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

A million questions that I can’t believe I never thought of are running through my head. What if I don’t wake up from the anesthesia? What if the electricity goes off in the middle of surgery? What am I supposed to wear? Can I drink a glass of wine or three the night before?

Then I get a text from my boyfriend. He asks: “Do you want to go to the baseball game in Tampa next Tuesday?”

Is he serious?

I’m like WTF????

I’m having surgery tomorrow and he is thinking about next week’s baseball game?…I’m having breast implant S-U-R-G-E-R-Y! How much does he really love me?

Then I realized, I’m being psychotic.

Reminder to self: Dr. Paul Wigoda is the best plastic surgeon; I could not be in better hands, literally. I call Karoline, one of Dr. Wigoda’s painless breast implantSize D pros. She told me all my feelings are normal. Karoline said to wear a Juicy Couture outfit and all will be fine. Cheers!

My Lab Results From Blood Work Came Back: I’m Pregnant!

With my painless breast implant surgery by Dr. Wigoda just days away, I’m dreaming about getting all new Victoria Secret’s bras…until I check my iPhone. Waking up to a series of missed calls, text messages and emails from my doctor just two days after getting blood work done is not a fun feeling. I thought either I’m dying, or someone is dead. Cancer, or a brain tumor for sure…

As it turns out, my doctor tells me I am four to five weeks pregnant!

Joy…F-ing PREGNANT! It was one of those life-changing moments where I felt every ounce of blood draining rapidly from my body. This was not the news I am planning to hear days before my breast implant surgery, and after I’ve mentally decided my days of having more babies are history.

Seriously? I go from buying new sexy demi bras to nursing bras?

After having a mind-erasing day at my Ob-Gyn, getting more tests done and being sent home with prenatal vitamins, the call comes at the end of the day: “Sorry, it must have been a lab error, you are not pregnant!” my doctor tells me.

I go straight to a bar and order a tequila shot. Tomorrow is a new day; my breast implant surgery with Dr. Paul Wigoda is back on. So is my cruise in December. So is my boyfriend’s vasectomy.
