Heidi Klum No Plastic Surgery Necessary

She’s not called Heidi “the body” for nothing.

At 35, Heidi Klum is truly one of the most beautiful women in the world – and according to Dr. Wigoda she is definitely an all-natural beauty. Known to credit her good genes for her appearance, German-born Heidi certainly has her parents to thank for giving her the supermodel looks we all idolize.

Here’s what South Florida plastic surgeon, Dr. Wigoda has to say:

“Obviously, it is difficult to come up with anything less than positive to say when looking at one of the world’s most beautiful women. From a cosmetic surgery standpoint, she has no flaws to fix.

She has perfectly smooth skin in the forehead, glabella, and crow’s feet region. There is no way to know if this is good genes or if she has had Botox, but I suspect it is mostly genetic. Her jaw line is perfect. She has no jowls and the skin is taut throughout.

Looking at her eyelids, there is no skin laxity in the upper or lower lids and no fatty bags in the lower lids. She is still relatively young, though. At 35, women with good genes who take care of themselves (don’t smoke, avoid sun exposure, eat healthy, etc) often don’t need to have any work done, although some will have Botox more as a preventative treatment than to eliminate existing wrinkles.”

Celebrity Botox Confessions

Getting Botox in Miami has become about as common as getting your haircut, getting a manicure, or even going to the gym.celebrity botox

In Hollywood, what used to be a hush-hush procedure deflected by starlets who credited their smooth skin to good genes and sunscreen is now so common that even young actresses regularly admit to using Botox.

Actress and singer Vanessa Williams, who at 45 looks 35, credits Botox with her youthful appearance. Williams tells PEOPLE Magazine in the latest issue that she gets Botox “every three months” but that it’s definitely “not a lot”.  Other stars including Brook Shields and Jenny McCarthy spill their Botox secrets in the latest issue as well.

Quality over quantity seems to be the mantra when it comes to having Botox injections, and Dr. Paul Wigoda of The Aesthetics Institute and Me Day Spa certainly abides by this standard.

“Botox is not something that you use in the same way on each patient,” said Dr. Wigoda. “You have to understand their face and facial movements as well how to apply the least amount of Botox to achieve maximum results.”

Check out the video of Dr. Wigoda applying Botox to a patient below.

Sylvester Stallone’s Celebrity Plastic Surgery

The man who played the “People’s Champ” may have decided to erase all those years in the ring with some plastic surgery. Sylvester is well over 60 years old, but doesn’t seem to be aging that much — a telltale sign that a celebrity has had plastic surgery. Well, at least, Dr. Wigoda thinks so.

Take a look at the video and pictures below to see if Sly is still the “Italian Stallion.”

Pre-Wedding Plastic Surgery Is On The Rise

In the not-so-distant past, getting married meant months of planning. These tedious months included finding dresses, tuxedoes, location, flowers, and planning bridal party. Now, Fort Lauderdale plastic surgeons like Dr. Wigoda are reporting that many brides (and grooms) to be are adding Botox, liposuction, lip augmentation, and rhinoplasty to that list!

With more and more people hoping to be picture-perfect on their big day, Dr. Wigoda sees brides-to-be resorting to what were once considered extreme measures. Dr. Wigoda’s pre-wedding patients, whether male or female, have often already been thinking about cosmetic surgery and their impending nuptials are often simply at catalyst for them to make the decision to undergo cosmetic surgery.

“Typically, I see younger brides coming in for liposuction or breast augmentation a few months before the wedding. Brides in their 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s often come in for Botox or fillers. I also see family members, especially the mothers of the bride or groom, who come in for anything from injectables to facelifts.”

Mickey Rourke’s Bad Celebrity Plastic Surgery

In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s usually female celebrities we see sporting the scars of bad plastic surgery. However, a new crop of aging former hunks has decided that the only way to retain their former heartthrob status is to go under the knife…sometimes with less than perfect results.

In this week’s post, South Florida plastic surgeon Dr. Wigoda takes on the challenge of figuring out what exactly happened to Mickey Rourke.  Is his boxing career to blame for the rapid decline in his looks or did he just pick a bad plastic surgeon?

Me Day Spa Manicure-Saving Tips

So you’ve visited your favorite South Beach Day Spa and Salon (Of course it was Me Day Spa!) for a manicure when – gasp! – a chip appears!

Never fear, the glam squad responsible for manicures at Me Day Spa provided us with some great tips to save your manicure from complete destruction. So bring on the dishes and typing, your nails will be protected!

  1. Go to a quality salon. Some salons may offer lower prices, but they don’t always take the time to apply your nail polish carefully.
  2. Don’t skip the basecoat! The basecoat is what keeps the polish on your nail. Be sure it is applied across the entire nail – especially the tips where chips start!
  3. Keep your hands out of the water. When washing dishes, wear rubber gloves.
  4. Apply a high quality topcoat every day. Me Day Spa’s manicurists say this is the trick to extending a manicure several days longer than normal.
  5. Treat a chip right away. Keep a home supply of the same type of polish used by your manicurist. As soon as you see a chip, fill it in and apply topcoat to keep the chip from spreading.

Ashlee Simpson’s Celebrity Plastic Surgery

Ashlee Simpson is one of the youngest celebrities in Hollywood who admits to having plastic surgery. Rhinoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures in the US and it’s amazing how great the results can be when done correctly! Ashlee’s plastic surgery shows us that just because you’re a celebrity doesn’t mean you have to have tons of work done!

Here’s what Dr. Wigoda, Fort Lauderdale’s best plastic surgeon, had to say:

“Its pretty amazing what rhinoplasty can do! Ashlee Simpson went from a slightly-above-average-looking young lady to a very attractive woman.

From a plastic surgery standpoint, her surgeon did an excellent job with her rhinoplasty. She is not overdone and if we didn’t know her before, you wouldn’t know she had her nose done at all.

The goals when doing a rhinoplasty are:

  • obtaining a natural appearance
  • shaping the nose to fit the persons face
  • not making the patient look like a completely different person(unless they are hiding from the FBI!)
  • most importantly, shaping the nose so the patient can breathe easily.

It is fairly often that I improve a patient’s airway while making their nose look better. If you have trouble breathing through your nose, especially when lying down (and trying to go to sleep), it is quite annoying. This is the primary complaint of patients who consult with me for a rhinoplasty.”

Three cheers for appropriate use of plastic surgery Ashlee!

Is Your Plastic Surgeon Board Certified? Questions To Ask Before Plastic Surgery

Making the choice to undergo cosmetic surgery is not one that should be taken lightly. Even the most famous and experienced plastic surgeons have less than-stellar results with patients from time to time, and occasionally have patients that experience complications during plastic surgery.

Consider the following questions when researching plastic surgeons. Keep in mind that the final choice of surgeon is yours and should depend on whom you feel the most comfortable with, not who is the cheapest or most well known.

1.    Is the surgeon a fully trained plastic surgeon?

In order to become a plastic surgeon, a physician must complete 4 years of medical school, at least 3 years of a general surgery residency, and at least 2 years of a plastic surgery residency. Fellowships are often done for additional training. All of these must be done at fully accredited programs.

2.    Is the plastic surgeon board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery?

In order to become a board certified plastic surgeon, a doctor must meet the requirements in question one and then pass a written exam. After being in practice for approximately one year, the plastic surgeon then must pass a three-day oral exam given by many of the national leaders of plastic surgery around the country. This is the only board that is important for a plastic surgeon.

3.    Where is the surgery being performed? Have there been any serious complications at the surgery site?

You should always ask if there have been any problems at the practice or surgery center where you will be having your cosmetic procedure There are some well known cosmetic surgery centers in South Florida where more than one death has occurred. Patients may not realize that the cosmetic surgery centers are businesses often owned, not by physicians, but by businessmen.

For more information and questions to ask your plastic surgeon before having a cosmetic surgery procedure, call Dr. Wigoda at (954) 463-7088.
